Sam Piper

Camera Assistant, Data Wrangler, Minicams Operator, Happy Chap.

About Sam

Sam joined the Maddogs team in July of 2022 after graduating from the Bournemouth Film School. It was only a matter of weeks between him walking across that graduation stage wondering what his next step would be, and having his interview with Maddogs. From working in retail, behind bars, in factories and multiple other jobs; Sam has really found what he loves.

In-house, Sam works with the team to ensure all the kit that is sent out has been maintained correctly and is exactly what the clients require for them to achieve the best results they can.

On location, during his time at University Sam dabbled in spark, grip and set design work which resulted in two of his crew being awarded 2nd place at the nahemi Kodak Student Commercial Awards. He has experience from working across multiple different fiction student films that opened up his eyes to his love of the industry. From this he has expanded his knowledge and is now an experienced Data Wrangler and has been trained to operate unique time-lapse photography equipment.

Sam is available to hire as Camera Assistant, Data Wrangler, Lighting Gaffer and Minicam’s Operator/rigger.

Sam once fell out of a plane at 15,000 ft for fun… and charity.

Personal Profile

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic professional, with a polite and friendly manner. I always aim to perform to my best with an eye for attention to detail. I welcome new challenges that could develop my knowledge and experience. Striving for greatness, exhibiting resilience, initiative, and perseverance when tackling all tasks are all qualities I take with me to every job. Being employed by Maddogs Television grants me vital access to a wide range of equipment, helping to advance my understanding and workflow of a production, along with the support from the team.

My parents have fond memories of me sitting in our toy box in front of the TV when I was younger watching my favourite kids shows, however I realised I had a love for film and tv when my dad surprised me and my brother, returning from work with the whole James Bond collection on VHS. Since then I have always had a real passion for all kinds of media especially video games, tv, film and music. This passion has really pushed me to be independent and break away into my own interests and hobbies and pursue a career I really love.
