The Samyang 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC Lens is a mid-telephoto cine lens has been developed specifically for professional filmmaking. It excels at low-light shooting, particularly when mounted on a full frame DSLR, and produces images with smooth defocused areas and beautiful bokeh thanks to its large maximum aperture.
The UMC version features follow focus gearing and decoupled aperture, meaning the user is able to smoothly and quietly adjust focus and aperture settings while filming, as well as coupling with professional follow focus systems. This means the lens is fully outfitted for even high-end professional filmmaking and broadcast work.
Cine Lens Features
Samyang 85mm T1.5 VDSLR AS IF UMC II is carefully designed for professional film and video works so the focus gear ring is installed for follow focus system. You may change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the uncoupled aperture gear ring. Also, distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.
Optical Features
Hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP) has a specially designed curved surface to minimize colour aberration and realize exceptional image quality and high contrast throughout centre to corner of image even when aperture is fully opened. Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) technology of Samyang Optics optimizes the light penetration and minimizes flare and ghosting.
